For Sale: 1961 Ford F100 in Derby, Kansas for sale in Derby, KS

1 of 26
Vehicle Description Up for sale is my 1961 Ford F100 Short Bed 2 Wheel Drive.
I bought it a year ago out of Arkansas (it is an Arkansas truck per the vin).
I started by pulling the inline 6 cylinder motor and the 3 on the tree transmission and dropped in a big block 460 out of a 1979 Ford F150 (mileage unknown) which is mated to a C6 automatic transmission.
I then lowered it, put rims and tires on it, did the interior etc.
I believe it has 60,xxx original miles on it because of how clean and straight it is, especially for a unibody truck.
Runs good, everything functions.
Here are the specifics:
-Big block 460 out of a 1979 F150 (mileage unknown) - runs awesome -C6 Ford automatic transmission with tranny cooler - Lokar shifter with mushroom head handle -All motor bolt-ons have been replaced with the exception of the alternator and starter -Oil pan, valve cover, intake manifold, exhaust manifold gaskets replaced -Recurved distributor, Accell coil, new ignition module -All new fluids-Engine bay painted the original white color found on the upper portion of the truck -New master cylinder - couple of the brake lines replaced, new brake shoes and hoses -New speedometer cable-Battery disconnect switch in cab - it had a draw on the system that would drain the battery.
I couldn't figure it out so I put this disconnect switch in.
Doubles as an anti-theft device -New heater core and blower motor -Camper special radiator -Edelbrock 1407 carburetor - fresh rebuild -New battery -New vinyl seat cover, carpet, and shift boot -I replaced the floor pan on the passenger side, driver side was solid.
-Some rust repair in the bed.
There are still some rust holes in the bed and on the body of the truck, but to preserve the exterior look, I left it.
The bottom of the passenger door is completely rusted out, such that the door skin at the bottom isn't really connected anymore.
Someone had undercoated the undercarriage before me which really helped preserve everything underneath.
The tailgate has some bad rust too.
-Frame is very solid -Original two tone paint scheme.
The exterior color matches the paint codes -Exterior was cleaned thoroughly and coated with boiled linseed oil which provides protection and sheen.
Once it dried, it provides a protective shell -New exhaust.
The tips are titanium that have been burned to give it the purple/blue color -New two chamber Thrush mufflers - sounds good and deep -No headliner -New Injector wheels - 7-8 wide fronts and 10 wide rears.
Aluminum spinners.
-New BFG Radial TA's in the front (215/70r15) -New BFG Silvertown's in the rear (285/70r15) - they are stuffed in the wheel wells.
When you turn a corner the tires rub a little on the insides.
-Professionally narrowed rear axle with new Moser axle shafts -New rear air shocks for height adjustability -New front shocks -Rear axle flip to lower rear 6 -Front has a 3 drop axle from Sids Speed Shop -C notched frame -New windshield and gasket -New side mirrors -Everything functions on the truck as it should with the exception of the temperature gauge in the dash.
I installed an aftermarket mechanical temp.
gauge which works great.
Truck runs at about 180 degrees when cruising.
-Little oil leak towards the rear of engine.
Not much.
Nothing abnormal.
-Needs window felt -Needs door seals.
They are included with the truck -Clean title in hand Some interesting things about this truck from the factory:
-It only has a door lock on the passenger door -It only has a driver side visor - the passenger side's metal knockout is still intact -No reverse lights -two tone seat cover was an option this had.
I replaced it with what you see now -Paint is two tone from the factory -Heater was optional (luckily this has one :
) I'm selling my truck because I'm wanting to get a 1969 Roadrunner or Charger.
I'm open to equitable trades for one of those two Mopars only.

Super straight body, minimal rust! Price is due to immaculate condition, level of preservation, and the unique patina that only mother nature can create.
I know there are a lot of opinions on this truck, but show me another one like this.
