The Dietary Aide/Dishwasher is responsible for serving and busing tables during and after resident meals in a friendly and professional manner. This position also responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards for glassware, tableware, cooking utensils, etc., using machine and manual cleaning methods. This position ensures the dishwashing area is maintained as a clean, safe and sanitary facility.
This is a part time role woking about 20 to 26 hours a week. 7:45am to 1:30pm, 4 to 5 days a week. Will have to alternate weekends.
Sorts and rinses dirty dishes, glass, tableware and other cooking utensils and place in racks to send through dishwashing machine where available or hand wash appropriately.
Checks, sorts and stacks clean dishes. Carries clean dishes to proper storage areas. Rewashes any dishes that have not been properly cleaned before placing in storage areas.
Washes pots, pans and trays after use and places in proper storage areas.
Sweeps, mops and vacuums floors in kitchen and serving areas.
Serves and waits on residents, family members and other visitors during meal times, including refilling beverages and serving food when appropriate.
Bus tables after residents, family members and other visitors have finished the meal.
Reset tables as appropriate.
Restocks food and supplies in the kitchen and serving areas.
Treats all residents, family members and other visitors in a manner to ensure their complete satisfaction.
Frequently washes hands to ensure sanitary kitchen and serving areas for residents, family members and other visitors.
Other duties as directed.
Applicants must be over 18 years of age. Applicants must possess a Food Handlers Card from Sedgwick County before or shortly after hire.
The ideal candidate would have some serving and dish washing experience, have an out going personality, genuinely a happy person with a good appearance, has good manners and is reliable. Prefer someone who lives in or in close proximity to Derby.
Applicants must safely operate standard industrial kitchen equipment including: commercial dishwashers, commercial garbage disposals, steam serving tables, and many hand appliances and tools.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
