Summary:
Under the general supervision of the company Engineering Director, the Engineering Manager performs responsible duties pertaining to the administration and coordination of the Engineering Department.
This employee is responsible for the coordination of engineering projects in conjunction with the marketing and manufacturing departments and supervising the engineering department staff.
Job Functions:
Essential:
Oversees program management and resource scheduling.
Supervises hardware and software design.
Oversees mechanical and electronic packaging design.
Assists with product development and improvement.
Defines engineering/testing documentation required.
Provides product support.
Oversees the development of test equipment (both manual and automatic) and procedures.
Defines and manages certification programs.
Responds to needs of customers and assists with engineering issues.
Provides engineering support to customers and internal disciplines.
Supervises Engineering Department staff and oversees/plans the functions of the department.
Participates in the interview and selection process for new employees.
Appraises performance of employees in engineering department.
Handles complaints and disciplinary issues for engineering department when necessary.
Marginal:
Performs other duties as deemed necessary or as required.
Job
Qualifications:
Experience:
At least 8 years supervisory experience in an engineering environment, preferably in aircraft cabin interior systems.
Employee is expected to acquire the necessary information and skills to perform the job reasonably well within 90 days in the position.
Education:
Bachelor of Science in Electronics/Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or related field or equivalent combination of education, training and experience required.
Skills:
Skills expected include demonstrated engineering skills; strong verbal, written, people and supervisory skills; knowledge of electrical engineering, and the ability to read schematics and manufacturing documentation.
Good computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Word, and Excel, and Autocad is required.
Job Type:

$75,267.
80 - $86,397.
